Dressing up in Balinese kebaya and white kook or safari, Balinese women and men were marching down to the nearest temple to say their morning prayer and give their offering. Today, Balinese are celebrating Galungan day.

Galungan is celebrated to remind human beings that we should always fight the battle against the bad habit and evil desires. It is celebrated once in 210 days according to the Balinese calendar.

On Galungan day, usually Balinese decorate their house and their temple. The most striking and noticeable decoration is penjor that they put in front of their house. Penjor is a bamboo pool which is decorated with unhulled rice, coconut leaves and coconut, which represent the nature.

To all my Hindu Balinese friends, Rahajeng nyanggra rahina Galungan lan Kuningan
